Privacy Notice

JBA respects the privacy of the children attending the school and the privacy of their parents or carers. The personal information provided to JBA about you and your child is used only to provide appropriate care for them, maintain my service to you, and communicate with you effectively. The legal basis for JBA processing the personal information relating to you and your child is for the purpose of fulfilling the contract with you to meet these criteria.

Any information that you provide is kept secure. Data that is no longer required is deleted. Different types of data need to be retained for varying lengths of time to comply with legal requirements and industry best practice.

JBA will use the contact details you provide to contact you via phone or email, to send you relevant information about your child, the classes they are enrolled in, and the wider school, and also to communicate with you regarding payment of fees.

JBA will only share personal information about you or your child with another organisation if I:

  • have a safeguarding concern about your child

  • am required to by government bodies or law enforcement agencies

  • engage a supplier to process data on my behalf (eg to take online bookings, or to issue invoices)

  • have obtained your prior permission.

You have the right to ask to see the data held about yourself or your child and to ask for any errors to be corrected. You also have the right to request that data is deleted.  However, please note the following:

  • your child cannot safely continue to attend JBA if sufficient information about them is not held

  • even after your child has left the school, there is a statutory duty to retain some types of data for specific periods of time.

If you have a complaint about how JBA has kept your information secure, or how I have responded to a request to access, update or delete your data, you can refer me to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
